Jan Kaplický was a Czech architect and designer whose practice bridged experimental modernism and organic form-making from the 1960s onward. Working primarily in drawing, model-making, and architectural design, he developed a distinctive approach that integrated biological and natural systems into built and speculative projects. His work was rooted in postwar European modernism but pushed toward sculptural and biomimetic investigations that anticipated later computational and parametric design methodologies.
