Kaari Upson worked in photography, video, and installation to excavate the psychological weight of family archives and domestic interiors. Her practice centered on how inherited trauma and memory embed themselves in material objects and architectural space, often using her own family photographs and home environments as primary material. Through this intimate, biographical approach, Upson created work that collapsed the distance between personal and collective history.
