Guy Tillim is a South African photographer documenting post-conflict African landscapes and urban environments through sustained color photography. His work examines material traces of political upheaval, economic collapse, and social reconstruction across Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and other regions marked by instability. Rather than adopting the conventions of photojournalism or aesthetic detachment, Tillim constructs extended visual archives that register the texture and temporality of contested sites. His practice treats the city as both historical record and threshold for understanding reconstruction.
