Aleksandr Deineka was a Russian painter and sculptor whose work synthesized Soviet modernism with classical figuration. Active from the 1920s onward, he developed a distinctive style combining bold geometric forms, dynamic compositions, and heroic human subjects rendered in restrained color palettes. His paintings and reliefs engaged with themes of labor, sport, and industrial progress while maintaining formal restraint and architectural clarity. Deineka's influence extended across Soviet visual culture through his teaching and public commissions.
