Peter Klasen is a German painter working in a hyperrealist idiom that emerged from postwar European visual culture. His work, typically rendered in acrylic and oil on canvas, combines commercial typography, industrial imagery, and fragmented architectural forms into densely layered compositions that interrogate the visual saturation of urban environments. Based in the tradition of critical realism, Klasen's paintings refuse both abstraction and straightforward documentation, instead constructing a formal vocabulary from the detritus of consumer and industrial modernity.
