Why this artist matters now
Marianne Strengell was an American weaver whose handwoven textiles merged modernist abstraction with the structural vocabulary of the loom. Working across fine art and functional design, she developed a formal language rooted in the postwar craft revival, establishing herself as a significant figure in mid-century American textiles.
