Patrick Scott was an Irish painter and sculptor whose abstract work investigated geometric systems and color relationships through grids, tessellations, and carefully modulated palettes. Active from the 1940s onward, his practice embodied a constructive, mathematical approach to abstraction rather than gestural expression. Scott's disciplined investigations of the intersection between geometric principle and visual perception positioned his work within postwar European modernism's expansion into systematic abstraction.
