Donald M. Oenslager was an American set designer and theater architect who shaped mid-century stage design by integrating modernist scenography with structural innovation. Active from the 1920s through the 1970s, he designed sets for Broadway productions while simultaneously influencing the architectural conception of performance spaces themselves. His work bridged the disciplines of theater design and building, establishing principles that defined postwar American stage architecture.
