Johannes Christiaan Schotel was a Dutch draughtsman active in the early nineteenth century, known for precise ink and watercolor drawings. His practice centered on maritime subjects and topographical studies of the Dutch landscape. Working during a period of renewed national identity following the Napoleonic Wars, Schotel developed a technical facility with line and wash that captured both documentary detail and atmospheric effect. Little is known of his institutional affiliations or exhibition history.
