Eva Besnyö was a Hungarian-born photographer who worked across the twentieth century, initially in Budapest before establishing her practice in the Netherlands. Her photographs combine documentary precision with formal abstraction, capturing everyday subjects and architectural detail with a modernist sensibility. Active from the 1930s onward, Besnyö's work spans portraiture, still life, and urban landscapes, informed by the photographic experiments of the European avant-garde. Her practice remained rooted in observation and clarity of form throughout her long career.
