Cyprien Gaillard works across film, photography, sculpture, performance, and public intervention to examine ruins, dereliction, and the cyclical entanglement of history with nature. His practice often unfolds outdoors, inducing as much as documenting decay, as in the "Real Remnants of Fictive Wars" series, where industrial fire extinguishers were discharged on Land Art sites. He received the Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2010.
