Shuzo Takiguchi was a Japanese painter, sculptor, and assemblagist whose practice moved fluidly between abstraction and surrealist principles in the postwar period. Working across multiple mediums simultaneously, he engaged directly with the artistic and critical discourse emerging in Japan after 1945, establishing himself as both maker and theorist. His approach to form prioritized conceptual rigor over stylistic consistency, allowing each medium to generate its own spatial and material logic.
