Huang Yong Ping was a French artist of Chinese origin who worked across installation, sculpture, and mixed media, often incorporating found objects, discarded materials, and cultural artifacts. His practice engaged with the legacy of colonialism, displacement, and the collision between Eastern and Western visual traditions. Operating at the intersection of conceptual art and material transformation, he assembled works from detritus and historical fragments that questioned institutional authority and cultural hierarchy. His installations were shown internationally from the 1980s onward.
